Andrew “I’m Not Gay No More" Caldwell Admits He Still Has "Desires" For Mens

Remember Andrew Caldwell, the 21-year-old who made a virtual splash when he announced to the parishioners at his St. Louis church "I'm not gay no more!"?

In a new interview with NBC 12, Caldwell reveals he's had a change of heart after a few months of Internet fame in the rear-view mirror.

"I did not want to go viral,” he explains. “I did not want to get up there and just say anything and look crazy in front of thousands of people. I went up there because I needed prayer that day. I needed so much prayer.”

Caldwell says while he still wants to change, he hopes there's a place for gay people in his faith.  He says the speaker before him had called gays in the church "sissies," and suggested they should "bleed from their butts."

"They think that they can preach the homosexuals away in the Church of God in Christ. And you can't."

Asked if he was indeed "delivered," Caldwell says "No, that's not the case... I still have desires. If I was delivered, God should deliver me more. I know it takes a process—but I think it is going a little bit slow.

Caldwell says he wants the Almighty to work on his mannerisms: "I want God to stop the switching... talking like a woman."

Our suggestion, Andrew? To borrow a phrase from our spiritual leader, “If you don't love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else?”

Can we get an amen?!
