Celebs, Porn Stars, and Drag Queens Pledge Millions to Australian Wildfire Relief Funds

The Australia bushfires are in their sixth month.

The statistics are beyond alarming: The worst wildfires in Australia in decades, with 27 reported deaths as the blazes, now in their sixth month, continue with no signs of abetting anytime soon. According to conservative figures, some one billion animals have likely died in the fires, which have devastated more than 12 million acres of land.

While those figures are overwhelming, the response, from both celebrities and everyday citizens alike, is cause for celebration and hope. Here are but a handful of notable responses to the crisis in Australia.

Lizzo might be taking a break from Twitter, but she hasn't stopped giving everyone but the useless haters reason to continue to stan her. The Grammy-nominated singer took time out while on tour in Australia to volunteer at Foodbank Victoria, singing, "Turns out I'm 100 percent that food bank!" She sorted boxes and helped raise the spirits of the volunteers and staff who have been working to help those affected.

Celebrities Make Big Donations

A number of celebrities have made large donations to aid the rescue and recovery efforts.

Elton John announced he was donating $1 million during a performance in Sydney.

Chris Hemsworth also announced he was giving $1 million.

Pink announced on Twitter she was donating $500,000 to local fire services.

Bette Midler announced she was matching Pink's donation.

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are also giving half a million dollars to fire services.

Ellen DeGeneres has donated to local fire services in Australia and encouraged others to give as well.

Shawn Mendes took to Instagram to announce he and his foundation would give to the Australian Red Cross and fire services.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge Donates Iconic Golden Globes Suit

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is auctioning her haute couture Ralph & Russo tuxedo on eBay, which she wore at the Golden Globes, where she won the award for Best Actress in a TV Musical or Comedy.

"I’m very excited that this stunning, one-of-a-kind couture tuxedo created by Australian geniuses Ralph & Russo will continue its journey by contributing to this urgent cause," the Fleabag creator and star said in a statement.

London Bar Hosting Drag Marathon

London gay bar Two Brewers has announced it will hold a 12-hour drag marathon to raise funds for WIRES Australian Wildlife Rescue Organisation and fire brigades affected by the fires.

The event will include 17 acts and will take place on January 26, from 2pm-2am.

Adult Film Stars and Models Raise Funds With Nudes

Gay adult film star Rocco Steele said model Kaylen Ward offering nude photos of herself to anyone who could prove they donated at least $10 to aid Australia as inspiring him to do the same.

In turn, a model who goes by CagedJock on Instagram said he was inspired by Steele to also offer nudes in exchange for donations.
