Caitlyn Jenner Remembers Opposing Marriage Equality, Would Like To Settle Down

"I'm at such a different place in my life."

Caitlyn Jenner sat down with Ellen last week for her first talk show appearance since coming out as transgender, speaking about a range of issues from her politically conservative views to her unique position in the trans community.

Asked by Ellen why she identifies as a Republican when a majority of her party's leaders would oppose key advancements for transgender equality, Jenner said she's evolved on many issues over the years.

Describing herself as a "traditionalist," Jenner announced she's now "on board" with same-sex marriage even though she once opposed it.

"I remember 15 years ago, 20 years ago - whenever it was when the whole gay marriage issue came up – at first I was not for it," said Jenner. "I’m older than most people in the audience. I kind of like tradition and it’s always been a man and a woman. And I’m thinking I don’t quite get it. But as time has gone on, I think like a lot of people on this issue have really changed their thinking here to I don’t ever want to stand in front of anybody’s happiness. That’s not my job."

Jenner said her traditional mentality even extends to other parts of her life, particularly her dating habits. The 65-year-old Olympian talked about the media's interest in whether she'll date men or women in the future, but insists she's "at such a different place in life."

"Would I like to find a partner in life to share my life with?" she asked. "Yeah, I'm sure I will at some point. Right now I'm just very busy doing a lot of things."

Asked directly whether she'd date Candis Cayne, as some media have suggested the pair are together, Jenner laughed and brushed off the question. Check it out below.
