Ellen Page Drags Chris Pratt for His “Infamously” Anti-LGBTQ Church

The popular megachurch does not believe in same-sex marriage.

The Lego Movie 2 star Chris Pratt stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert this week to discuss his spiritual connection to Zoe Church and his recent religious fast, but Ellen Page just couldn't stomach it.

"Oh. K. Um," the out actress and vocal LGBTQ advocate tweeted Friday. "But his church is infamously anti lgbtq so maybe address that too?"

Pratt attends Zoe Church, an evangelical megachurch. According to a doctrine obtained by Church Clarity, they do not believe in same-sex marriage.

"If you are a famous actor and you belong to an organization that hates a certain group of people, don’t be surprised if someone simply wonders why it’s not addressed," Page tweeted today. "Being anti LGBTQ is wrong, there aren’t two sides. The damage it causes is severe. Full stop."

"If lgbtq+ people are expressing their pain, their trauma, their experiences... maybe just try and listen?" she continued. "Open your heart, stop being defensive and have compassion. It’s a beautiful and life changing feeling, empathy."

Page, who is married to Emma Portner, appeared on Colbert last week to denounce Vice President Mike Pence's anti-LGBTQ stance, including his historic support of conversion therapy.

The Umbrella Academy actress also linked the Trump administration to the recent racist and homophobic attack on gay Empire star Jussie Smollett: “Connect the dots. This is what happens.”

Pratt has responded to Page's tweets.

*UPDATE: This article originally stated that Pratt attended Hillsong Church. We regret the error. We have reached out to Zoe Church for clarification on their LGBTQ policies and views and will update if more information becomes available.
