Your First Look at ABC’s “Roseanne” Spinoff “The Conners”

"What's next?"

Well, the sofa is the same.

ABC has released its first promo for The Conners, the spinoff to the popular Roseanne revival that aired earlier this year.

The promo, featuring the iconic living room set and Carly Simon's "Anticipation," simply asks, “What’s next?” Good question.

Roseanne was swiftly canceled in May following a racist tweet from star Roseanne Barr. The network later decided to revamp the blue-collar sitcom as The Conners without Barr.

The new show's official social media accounts have also shared a photo, captioned "Day 1," of a kitchen table read featuring returning cast members John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Michael Fishman, Emma Kenney, Jayden Ray, and Ames McNamara with their scripts.

Goodman, who plays patriarch Dan Conner, recently revealed how Barr’s absence will be addressed on The Conners: “I guess he’ll be mopey and sad because his wife’s dead.”

Gilbert, who came out publicly as a lesbian in 2010, plays Darlene Conner and is also an executive producer on the series. "This show has always been about diversity, love, and inclusion," she said on The Talk following Roseanne's cancelation. "However, I do stand behind the decision ABC made."

Continuing Roseanne's commitment to queer representation during its original 1988-1997 run, McNamara returns as Mark, Darlene's gender-nonconforming son.

The Conners premieres October 16 on ABC.
