Find Out What It's Like Dating As A Gay Mormon

"It was like a bomb went off in your soul."

In the latest episode of Logo's digital series, Fill in the Blank, members of the LGBT community sit down to reflect on their experiences growing up gay and searching for love within the Mormon church.

In the video, gay ex-mormons, like photographer and model Levi Foster, talk with one of their friends about topics ranging from misconceptions people have about the church to dating as a gay mormon.

"Dating as a gay mormon was tragic," proclaims Michael, one of the subjects in the video. "It was like a bomb went off in your soul... like cutting off a piece of who you really are."

"Dating while Mormon was not really existent," Levi explains.

But Jesse Havea (who you may know as the drag queen Brita Filter) tells his friend, Tiffany, how when he was in the church he was too young to even consider dating.

Levi goes further to explain how gay mormons can actually date each other but they are technically "in a gray or wrong area. The second that they have any type of physical contact they are sinning."

In the video below, hear more about what it's like being gay and Mormon.
