Goldie Hawn Approves of Gigi Goode's "First Wives Club" Drag Number

"I'm young and free, you don't own me!"

Netflix threw quite the party to close out Pride Month.

Netflix’s LGBTQ vertical, The Most, hosted a star-studded Pride celebration described as “digitally programmed moments of reflection, moments to celebrate queer artists and performers, and dialogue to inspire change and action.” It featured tons of queer Netflix talent, including famous faces like Laverne Cox, Janet Mock, the Queer Eye Fab Five, Hannah Gadsby, Tituss Burgess, Ryan O’Connell, and Wilson Cruz.

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 12 top three queen Gigi Goode also made an appearance. The Los Angeles-based queen dressed as Elise, Goldie Hawn's character from the classic film The First Wives Club.

When it came for the actual digital Pride party, fans were treated to Gigi, along with two drag co-stars, Juku and West Dakota, recreating the movie's closing musical number, "You Don't Own Me"—all remotely, obviously. As if a First Wives Club-inspired performance wasn't enough, one-third of the movie's original trio—Hawn herself—made a surprise appearance and told the queens she loves them.

"You ladies are amazing. Happy Pride!" the Oscar winner said, sporting a white jacket similar to Elise's from the film's final scene.

If your Pride month ends with Goldie Hawn telling you you're amazing, then you know you've done something right.
