Jonathan Groff Talks Boyfriend Zachary Quinto, New Play

The busy actor is also a regular on the Starz show Boss, and sat down with the LA Times to talk about his two roles and, inevitably, his sexuality and boyfriend Zachary Quinto.

Sadly for all you Glee fans though, no definitive word on when or if Groff would return to the show. Having just wrapped filming on Boss and busy with Red, it seems like it may be some time before Jesse St. James is back. Tears.

The actor seems most excited about his role in Red, and getting to work with Molina. Groff says of the Tony winning actor, "He's just a total beast onstage, and getting to see him play Rothko, which I think is one of those stage performances that people years from now will say, 'I got to see Alfred Molina play Mark Rothko in that production of Red,' and it goes down in theater as one of those historical performances."

He holds Kelsey Grammer, the star of Boss, in high regard as well. "On Boss, I got to play the assistant to Kelsey Grammer, who is an incredible actor and doing something in that show that I think nobody has ever seen him do, and he's just killing it."

As for his sexuality and being public about his relationship with Quinto, Groff told the Times, "Ultimately everyone has their own journey. The more people that come out the better, because it makes it easier for the next generation of people coming out, and it makes people more comfortable with it, the more people they know. But at the end of the day, if people don't want to come out, it's their personal choice. I feel really blessed to be living in 2012. Certainly there's a long way to go, but I feel really positive about how, even in the last 10 years, being gay has become more accepted."

What a guy.
