Actor Kieron Richardson just announced that he and husband Carl Hyland are set to become parents to a pair of twins.

The Hollyoaks star made the big reveal on Instagram in a short video that showed the couple's Christmas tree adorned with two "Baby on Board" ornaments.

As the camera panned from the tree, it landed on the couple as they unwrapped a sign that read "Twins Coming 2017."

The happy news comes just weeks after Richardson revealed that he and Hyland were having difficulty conceiving a baby through IVF treatment after four failed attempts.

“We were hoping to have a baby this year,” he said at the time.

“Unfortunately, like anyone who is trying for a baby through IVF–whether they are gay couples or not–it is a lottery.”

Richardson came out publicly in 2010 at the same time as his Hollyoaks character Stephen Hay. By 2014, he was engaged to Hyland and the pair married in 2015.
