Kurt And Blaine Tie The Knot On "Glee"

Ryan Murphy is speeding ahead to the big Glee series finale, and giving viewers lots of closure along the way: Friday's episode saw not only the nuptials of Brittany (Heather Morris) and Santana (Naya Rivera), but a surprise double wedding with Blaine (Darren Criss) and Kurt (Chris Colfer).

Brittana and Klaine, now and forever.

Kurt and Blaine had broken off their engagement but reunited with some help from Brittany, Santana and even Sue Sylvester. In fact, the double wedding was officiated by Kurt's dad, Burt Hummel (Mike O’Malley).

The Kurt-Blaine has been a major anchor of the show almost from the beginning. It brought a new kind of LGBT representation to the small screen.

Perhaps it was an imperfect one, but it exposed a huge swath of society to the reality of gay teens (and gay teens who have—gasp—sex).

"It's kind of grew legs of its own and it has now become not so much the relationship that our characters have on the show, but, like, this other creature," teases Colfer. "It's this monstrous thing that can do big things – but it's also a little scary!"

Brittany and Santana's road to the altar was somewhat less bumpy, though Britt was worried when Santana saw her in her dress before the wedding.

And Sue jumped in to reunite Santana with her abuela. (Please don't turn McKinley's meanest into a softie, Glee—we're still hoping for a Sue Sylvester spinoff show.)

Other familiar faces who returned for the wedding episode included Mercedes (Amber Riley), Puck (Mark Salling), Finn’s mom (Romy Rosemont), Sugar (Vanessa Lengies) and Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz)—who asked Mike Chang (Harry Shum, Jr.) to marry her. (Spoilers: He said "no.")
