Lady Gaga to Sing National Anthem at Biden-Harris Inauguration

No word yet on whether "Chromatica" Oreos will be the official snack of the inaugural balls.

"Chromatica II" into "911," but it's Joe Biden putting his hand on the Bible and taking the oath of office.

Lady Gaga is beaming down from Chromatica to Washington, D.C., for the inauguration of President-Elect Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris on Wednesday, January 20. Variety reports that Mother Monster will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” for the swearing-in ceremony, "which typically begins around 11:30am ET on the West front of the U.S. Capitol."

Gaga isn't the only celeb who has been tapped for the inauguration. Jennifer Lopez will perform, with more stars yet to be announced. There will also be a 90-minute primetime special, Celebrating America, on January 20, hosted by Tom Hanks with performances by Justin Timberlake, Demi Lovato, and Jon Bon Jovi.

This isn't the first time the "Shallow" singer has lent her star power to help save democracy. The night before the 2020 presidential election, Gaga gave an impassioned speech and performance at Biden’s drive-in rally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

“Vote like your life depends on it, or vote like your children’s lives depends on it because they do,” she told the audience during the event. “Everybody, no matter how you identify, now is your chance to vote against Donald Trump, a man who believes his fame gives him the right to grab one of your daughters, or sisters, or mothers or wives by any part of their bodies... Vote for Joe. He’s a good person.”

Don't blast off to Planet Chromatica yet, folks. There may be hope for America after all.
