Will This "San Junipero" Star Play K-Stew's Love Interest in a New Lesbian Rom-Com?
Happiest Season is truly the gift that keeps on giving: Actress Mackenzie Davis might be playing K-Stew's lesbian love interest in the forthcoming holiday-themed rom-com.
The TriStar Pictures film, which made headlines last November when Stewart was tapped to star, follows a queer woman whose plan to propose to her girlfriend at a family holiday party goes awry when she learns her GF is still in the closet.
TriStar acquired the rights to the film in early 2018, Variety reported, and out actress Clea DuVall (Veep, Argo) is slated to direct and co-write.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Davis is now in talks to star alongside Stewart in Happiest Season.
The 31-year-old Canadian actress (pictured above) has appeared in films like The Martian and Blade Runner 2049. Her breakout role was in AMC's Halt and Catch Fire, and she has become a queer favorite since co-starring in the beloved Black Mirror episode, "San Junipero." She's also been tapped to join OG Terminator stars Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger in an untitled reboot of the beloved franchise.
As exciting as it is to think of Davis alongside the Terminator, we can't wait to see her cozy up to K-Stew over festive treats and holiday music. Make those yuletides gay, ladies!
