Get Ready for Another “Pose” Time Jump

Back to the future!

The House of Evangelista is about to do the time warp again.

Pose co-creator Ryan Murphy and Emmy-nominated star Billy Porter recently sat down at the Pacific Design Center in L.A. to discuss the history-making series.

During the conversation Murphy revealed that, like the Season 2 premiere, the upcoming season finale of Pose will time jump again—a year ahead to 1991. That is only five years before 1996, when Murphy envisions the series' final season taking place.

“The running theme is the HIV crisis and how it affected the community. The medications that helped stop the plague came out in 1996. So I wanted to end the show right as that happened,” Murphy previously revealed to NewNowNext. “To show the decimation of a world. There is not a lot of LGBTQ history. There’s just not. I grew up knowing nothing. This show will be available on Netflix, and will be available to close to 200 million people worldwide, so that responsibility is important to me.”

Pose was given a Season 3 renewal earlier this summer, with FX Networks and FX Productions chairman John Landgraf remarking that it has "elevated our culture and the TV landscape like few shows before it."

A premiere date has not been announced, but the third season will most likely debut in summer 2020.
