Just when we thought the world couldn’t possibly squeeze in another streaming service, Quibi will crash-land into our lives on April 6. The main difference between it and the myriad other streaming services at your fingertips? It's only available on mobile devices, it offers only original programming (so no reruns), and each piece of content is 10 minutes or less ("Quibi" stands for “quick bites”).

DreamWorks co-founder Jeffrey Katzenberg and former eBay president and CEO Meg Whitman, Quibi's co-founders, have raised $1.75 billion so far in reported investments to compete with other mobile services producing content for short attention spans. According to an official announcement, about 175 programs will be available during Quibi’s first year, with about 50 dropping on its launch date.

Katzenberg and Whitman have also recruited a star-studded lineup to executive produce Quibi's shows, including Steven Spielberg (for horror series Spielberg’s After Dark), Jennifer Lopez (for Thanks a Million, a reality show that gives away cash), Usher (for dance competition The Sauce), and Chance the Rapper (for a reboot of MTV’s Punk’d). Quibi's films, such as the thriller Most Dangerous Game (starring Liam Hemsworth) and the comedy Flipped (starring Will Forte), are spread out in chapters.

But, of course, the question on everyone's lips is: How much is this going to cost me? A Quibi subscription is $4.99 per month with ads or $7.99 per month without. Those who sign up by April 20 can get a free 90-day trial, and a free one-year subscription is available to T-Mobile customers who have two or more mobile lines of postpaid T-Mobile service.

Bonus: There’s plenty of queerness to be found. Lena Waithe (also known as the busiest lesbian in Hollywood) is executive producing You Ain’t Got These, a show about sneaker culture. While she isn't the host and only pops up in one episode, audiences can expect a ton of other Quibi series that place queer talent front and center.

Dishmantled

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt alum Tituss Burgess takes food fights to another level as host and a judge of this reality cooking competition, which literally blasts a cannon full of food into the faces of blindfolded chefs. They then have to guess the thrown meals and recreate them in a race against time. Guest judges include Dan Levy, Queer Eye’s Antoni Porowski, Wolfgang Puck, Jane Krakowski, Rachel Dratch, and Roy Choi. Premieres April 6.

Fashion's a Drag

In this daily show, RuPaul's Drag Race alum Willam Belli and model Denise Bidot hang out with their drag queen friends to dish on celebrity style and the latest happenings in the fashion industry. Premieres April 6.

Gayme Show!

Gay comedians (and former Logo digital hosts) Matt Rogers and Dave Mizzoni emcee this comedic competition series that celebrates LGBTQ allies. Vying for the title "Queen of the Straights," hetero contenders are paired with a queer celebrity "life partner," and these teams must go through "physical, mental, and emotional challenges." Guests include Trixie Mattel, Ilana Glazer, Nicole Byer, Rachel Bloom, and comedian-podcaster Jon Lovett. Premieres April 6.

Murder House Flip

Former executive producers of CSI, Penny Dreadful, and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition are on the team behind this reality show about renovating homes where grisly murders took place. Gay interior designer Mikel Welch co-hosts with interior designer and real estate developer Joelle Uzyel. Flipped homes reportedly include the former boardinghouse run by convicted serial killer Dorothea Puente. Premieres April 6.

NightGowns With Sasha Velour

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9 winner Sasha Velour is back in the spotlight with this series about her stage revue of the same name. Based on social media reactions (a trailer and a promo video have gotten millions of views on YouTube), it's already poised to become one of Quibi’s most popular shows. Premieres April 6.

Prodigy

Lesbian soccer icon Megan Rapinoe hosts this documentary series profiling eight athletes, ages 21 or younger, who could become major stars in their respective sports, including basketball, soccer, football, swimming, boxing, and track and field. Premieres April 6.

Singled Out

MTV Studios is partnering with Quibi to resurrect MTV’s classic '90s dating competition show. The social media-oriented Singled Out has two queer hosts, Keke Palmer and Joel Kim Booster. And unlike the original, which only featured cisgender hetero hookups, the reboot welcomes singles of all gender identities and sexual orientations. Premieres April 6.

The Andy Cohen Diaries

The Watch What Happens Live host and Bravo exec is getting his own animated show, but instead of it being about his childhood (like Ellen DeGeneres’ animated HBO Max series Little Ellen), The Andy Cohen Diaries is based on his memoirs, focusing on "iconic and untold moments” in his adult life.

Untitled Cara Delevingne Show

Watch your back, Punk’d. The queer supermodel and actress is getting her own prank show, and she’s enlisted a posse of friends for the mischief-making.

Pillow Talk With Demi Lovato

On her upcoming talk show, the queer singer and actress will tackle topics like activism, body positivity, gender identity, sex, relationships, social media, and wellness. Lovato is also one of the show’s executive producers.

Potty Talk

We’re not sure how this is going to work in a post-coronavirus world, but celebrated fashion designer Alexander Wang is hosting a talk show in which he'll interview people in the bathrooms at high-profile events. A press release reads: “It may seem unconventional, but the bathroom is the perfect environment for a chat series” and “a safe haven where one can find refuge from the crowds, let their guard down, and have a private place to let loose and gossip.” The shit's about to get, uh, real.

Trip

Executive produced by Joel Kim Booster, this comedy series has been described as a gay Pride and Prejudice that's set on New York’s Fire Island. Its cast and premiere date haven't been announced, but you don’t have to be a psychic Mr. Darcy to know that Booster will also star.
