Roseanne Barr Dons Ornate Turban; Discusses Her Sitcom's Historic Lesbian Kiss

Roseanne Barr–never looking better, honestly, in a motorcycle jacket, satin turban and tortoise shell cat eye sunglasses–sat down on the couches for a HuffPost Live chat in which she discussed her sitcom's historic lesbian kiss 21-years-ago.

"The first," Barr quickly corrected when host Josh Zepps called the kiss "one of the first lesbian kisses on network TV."

"It's so different to watch it now," Barr remarked, "Because they've repackaged it as the 'gay kiss' show and it was a gay kiss but to me it was a show about homophobia.

Was it a struggle to get it on the air? "Hellz yeah. They threatened to cancel it and everything."

Asked why it mattered to her so much: "Because my brother and sister are both gay and I got tired of hearing bullshit about it so I wanted to do it. I kept thinking about stuff I could do and rules I could break–cause I'm a comic and that's what we like–so I tried to do that a lot; it was fun."
