ABC Considering "Roseanne" Spinoff Without Barr

John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and Sara Gilbert are "open" to the idea.

Could Roseanne still live on... without the show's namesake character?

That's an option executives at ABC are considering, reports Entertainment Weekly. Multiple news outlets, like The Daily Mail, are claiming that the sitcom's co-stars, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, and Sara Gilbert—who also served as an executive producer on Roseanne—are open to the idea of a potential spinoff.

But as EW notes, one of the problems with a series about The Connors or Aunt Jackie is that Barr would still benefit financially since she and Matt Williams conceived the characters.

Since ABC swiftly canceled Roseanne on Tuesday following Barr's racist tweet about former President Obama aide Valerie Jarrett, memes about spinoffs have gone viral, and even other celebrities like Mindy Kaling and Lena Dunham offering to write projects for the actors.

Would you watch a Roseanne spinoff featuring the rest of the Conner family?
