Netflix's "Super Drags" Facing Backlash From Christian TV Group

"Help us STOP Netflix animated transvestite series!"

Someone better hide the wigs and tucking tape.

Super Drags, Netflix's upcoming animated series about superhero drag queens, is facing conservative backlash from the Christian Film and Television Commission. The organization has started a Citizen Go petition titled: "Help Us STOP Netflix Animated Transvestite Series!"

The group is over halfway to their goal of 50,000 signatures to add to their letter to Netflix CEO Reed Hastings.

"Emboldened by 'gay pride,' Netflix is releasing a show geared towards children where homosexuality and cross-dressing are the focal point," the commission writes. "Netflix has taken the skill sets of those who create wholesome, educational content for children and has inserted the homosexual agenda into their content."

"Netflix offers wholesome shows like Clifford, the Big Red Dog and even VeggieTales. But do we really want our children to sit down to watch a fun new superhero cartoon series and instead have them lose their innocence to sexual wickedness?"

Back in May, the streaming giant released a teaser trailer for a new original animated series, Super Drags. According to the description, the cartoon follows three department store workers who have to deal with their uptight boss by day, but by night they transform into superhero drag queens, “ready to combat shade and rescue the world’s glitter from the evil villains.”

Not much else is known about the series, produced by Brazil-based Combo Studio, but the site, CosmoNerd, shines a little more light on the project, revealing that the three queens’ names are Lemon Chiffon, Cran’s Sapphire and Crimson Scarlet.

“We are thrilled that our first Brazilian animation will present our audiences with the daring, scandalous and fabulous world of Super Drags! Netflix is fortunate to invest in great animation talent from Brazil, bringing the vibrant trait of Combo and the acidic mood of our producers to the beautiful and the canvases from every corner, “said Chris Sanagustin, Netflix’s Director of Original International Content.

Business Insider reached out to Netflix for a comment on the Citizen Go petition, but unsurprisingly they did not respond.

The Christian Film and Television Commission said that Super Drags is "driven by a 'politically correct' LGBT agenda and it is chock-full of sexual innuendos that are inappropriate for young audiences."

We can only imagine what they think about Drag Tots.
