"The Gay And Wondrous Life Of Caleb Gallo" Is The First Great Web Series Of 2016

"I have a slightly uncomfortable relationship with my father, but I know that he loves and supports me, and also he's where I get my sense of humor."

Quality can be pretty hit-or-miss in the overpopulated world of web series, so how do you know what is worth watching?

Well luckily you have us to help steer you in the right direction, and we just found the first great series of the new year.

"The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo" comes from the hilarious mind of Brian Jordan Alvarez, who you may recognize from things like "The Gay Age Gap Is Real" and "Watch What Gay Guys Do When Straight People Aren't Around."

Alvarez stars as Caleb, the center of a group of friends who are all looking for love, or at least sex, to various degrees of difficulty.

Their style of comedy is both real and awkward, and the dialogue is delivered so naturally that it looks like the whole thing could have been improvised.

A perfect example of this is one of our favorite scenes featuring a cameo from Jimmy Fowlie of "Go-Go Boy Interrupted."

Fowlie rambles on for what seems like an eternity, but he — and the entire rest of the cast — are so committed to their characters that you can't tell where reality ends and the script begins.
