"9 to 5" Reunion: Dolly Parton Says She Will Guest on "Grace and Frankie"

Pour yourself another cup of ambition!

The ladies of Consolidated Companies are gearing up for a reunion.

While Dolly Parton was promoting her new song with Barry Gibb on Lorraine Kelly's talk show, the country-music queen spilled some details about how her long-rumored guest appearance on Grace and Frankie — and it sounds like it's finally going to happen.

"I've been trying to do Grace and Frankie for years. We worked so well on 9 to 5. It's a crazy, wonderful show," Parton told Kelly, referring to her 9 to 5 co-stars Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda. "So when it’s safe for us to actually do production, when they’re back, I’ll probably get around to doing that.”

The "Jolene" singer has been fielding questions about a reunion with Fonda and Tomlin for years. During a 2015 interview with the Television Critics Association, she was asked about making a cameo on the Netflix comedy series: “Who’s Grace and Frankie?” the country legend asked to a roomful of laughter. “Oh, you should have said ’Jane and Lily.' I told them whenever I get a little block of time, I’d love to come be on the show. We always talked about a [9 to 5] reunion.”

The trio have not acted together onscreen since the beloved 1980 movie, but they did reunite in 2017 when they famously turned their Emmys-presenting gig into a roast of President Donald Trump.

“Back in 1980, in that movie, we refused to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot,” Fonda said during the telecast.

“And in 2017, we still refuse to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot," Tomlin added.

The sixth season of Grace and Frankie premiered on Netflix back in January 2020, and the seventh and final season is slated to start production this June.
