Get ready to knock back some tequila shots at Dana's—The L Word: Generation Q just got renewed.

On Monday, Showtime confirmed that the 2019 revival of the beloved, super-soapy early-2000s drama about a group of self-sabotaging lesbians in Los Angeles will be returning for Season 2.

The updated version of The L Word features a younger, more diverse core cast, as well as a few familiar faces for OG viewers, including Shane (Kate Moennig), Alice (Leisha Hailey), and Bette (Jennifer Beals).

Season 1 of Generation Q, which premiered December 8, just aired its sixth episode this Sunday, January 12, with two episodes remaining. Showtime has upped the Season 2 order to 10 episodes.

Speaking to Deadline, Showtime exec Jana Winograde revealed that Generation Q's December premiere was a huge success for the network, driving its biggest weekend of new subscriber sign-ups in all of 2019.

“The L Word: Generation Q took our original series that was revered and reinvigorated it for a new generation and a new era,” Gary Levine, president of entertainment at Showtime, told the press at the Winter TCA tour. “The result has been a show that appeals to all generations for its relevance, its fearlessness, its emotion, and its fun. I can’t wait to see what Marja [Lewis Ryan, the series' showrunner and executive producer] along with Ilene [Chaiken, the series creator] and this talented ensemble will deliver for Season 2.”

Spokespeople for Showtime also confirmed that the network has renewed Work in Progress, a queer dramedy about an older butch lesbian starring comedian Abby McEnany and featuring prolific transgender filmmaker Lilly Wachowski as one of its producers and writers.
