How Gay Is Coachella 2020?

An investigation.

It's no Gaychella, but Coachella 2020 is shaping up to be pretty damn queer.

Late Thursday evening, the minds behind everyone's favorite/least favorite California music festival unveiled its lineup for 2020. And Coachella did not disappoint: LGBTQ artists on the list include trans pop princess Kim Petras, Brazilian drag performer Pabllo Vittar, "Old Town Road" country-rapper Lil Nas X, queer country crooner Orville Peck and Channel Orange legend Frank Ocean, who will headline Sunday performances on April 12 and April 17.

That's not the extent of Coachella 2020's queer acts, either. And we didn't even factor in allies yet! Rest assured, there are plenty on the lineup, including bop queen Carly Rae Jepsen and Charli "Gay rights! XCX.

Its mega-rich owner's notoriously anti-gay politics aside, Coachella has welcomed a bevy of LGBTQ artists to past iterations of the festival. Last year's lineup included the likes of "Pynk" icon Janelle Monáe, Cheap Queen King Princess, and trans synth-pop queen Sophie, among others.

Willing to look past those pesky controversies and score some tickets to Coachella 2020? Weekend 1 (April 10–12) is already sold out, but never fear: You can cop tix to Weekend 2 as early as Monday, January 6, though they'll set you back anywhere from $429 to $999, plus fees.

Hey—if Coachella's questionable political affiliations and/or hefty price tag don't do it for you, there's always @DJMikeyPop's annual Gaychella lineup as a consolation prize. (Stoned Kacey Musgraves? Lizzo's flute? Schitt's Creek's Moira Rose & The Jazzagals?! Say no more.)
