The 14 Sexiest Gay Love Scenes On TV This Year

true-blood-gay-sex-2014

It was a great year for gay sex on television: From Shonda Rhimes' explicit gay agenda on How to Get Away with Murder to the shockingly "normal" sexual encounters on Looking, we saw everything from bottom politics to back-alley blow jobs on the small screen, and even a quest to find San Francisco's most perfect foreskin.

Of all the gay sex that primetime brought us this year, which scenes were the best? Below, check out our top 14 gay love scenes of 2014!

14. Stanley and Thor (American Horror Story)

American Horror Story's half-creepy, half-adorable serial killer Dandy Mott (Finn Wittrock) never sealed the deal with Matt Bomer. But in Episode 9, we learned about Stanley's (Denis O'Hare) freakish 13-inch penis, courtesy of a hunky hustler named Thor.

13. Cyrus and Michael in Scandal

Shonda Rhimes made sure her gay agenda wasn't ageist: By the second episode of Scandal's fourth season, she had sent a newly widowed Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry) into the arms of Michael, a young hustler hellbent on destroying his political career.

12. Ethan Chandler and Dorian Gray in Penny Dreadful

We were hoping the first gay werewolf kiss would be reserved for True Blood's Alcide (Joe Manganiello), but Showtime delivered with Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) on Penny Dreadful, who got  naked with the legendary Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney).

11. Félix and Niko in Amor à Vida

Brazilian soap Amor a Vida gave us the first gay kiss in Brazilian television history: According to Noticias, Felix and Niko (Mateus Solano and Thiago Fragoso) spent years working up to this point.

Better yet, they lived happily ever after with child.

10. Zero and Jude in Hit The Floor

VH1 threw its hat in the "steamy gay scene" ring this year, opting for lip-lock between b-baller Zero (Adam Senn) and his agent Jude Kincade (Brent Antonello) on  Hit the Floor.

The scripted series examined what life could be like for a closeted basketball star, but unfortunately did not examine what happens after two men rip each other's shirts off.

9. Connor and Oliver on How to Get Away with Murder

Bottom politics came into play in How to Get Away with Murder's first steamy sex scene: In the above scene, Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) slams the door on Connor (Jack Falahee) after a precoital request ("turn over") sets him off.

"Okay," he eventually concedes, "but tonight, I do you."

8. Patrick and Richie (Looking)

One of the most awkward gay sex scenes of the year turned out to also be one of the most relatable: The epic 'cut vs. uncut' dilemma found its way into Patrick (Jonathan Groff) and Richie's (Raúl Castillo) relationship on Looking, and taught us a good lesson in assumption along the way.

7. Will and Gunnar (Nashville)

ABC's Nashville imitated real life this year, with a deeply closeted country singer coming out as gay. Though Will (Chris Carmack) and Gunnar (Sam Palladio) shared their first kiss last season, the sexual tension between them this year was more stressful than a Steve Grand music video.

6. Patrick and Kevin (Looking)

Russell Tovey did a lot more than bare his ass when he stripped down and went to town with Looking co-star Jonathan Groff this season — he sparked an intense love triangle that heats up with even racier sex scenes next season.

On filming sex scenes with fellow out actors, he told Pride Source, "doing these sex scenes just feels so cool."

5. Nate and Jacob on Kingdom

Nick Jonas backed himself into a corner by the time he received a blowjob from another guy on DirecTV's latest drama, Kingdom:  He's been gay-baiting fans since taking his shirt off at a NYC gay club and posing in his underwear like Marky Mark.

If you ask us, he was pretty much obligated to play a hot MMA fighter struggling to hide his gay feelings.

4. Shane and Duke on Faking It

Faking It's Shane (Michael J. Willett) got a sex life this season, sharing a steamy kiss with his MMA coach Duke (Skyler Maxon). The two may not have sealed the deal per se, but they got plenty close in more than one sexy wrestling sequence.

3. Dom and Alex on Looking

Dom's (Murray Bartlett) Grindr hookup early on in Looking's first season is one of the best of 2014 for two reasons: First, it's the only doggy-style sex we saw all year, and second, it made all our fantasies of topping Broadway veteran Andrew Keenan-Bolger come true.

2. Connor and Paxton on How to Get Away with Murder

The most talked-about gay sex scene of the year was definitely How to Get Away with Murder's copy room blowjob, between Connor (Jack Falahee) and an office internt. Opponents of the show's brazen sexuality claimed this racy scene was too much for cable TV, but it was creator Shonda Rhimes who had the last word. "There are no GAY scenes," she wrote on Twitter. "There are scenes with people in them."

1. Eric and and Jason on True Blood

It's a shame the greatest gay sex scene of the year (hands down) was merely a dream, but that doesn't make it any less incredible to watch on repeat. It only took seven seasons, but as you can see above, True Blood babes Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) and Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) finally had sex before the series finale in August.
