On June 12, 2016 a gunman opened fire at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, committing the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

Now a year later the Florida city will mark the day by holding "Orlando United Day," a daylong schedule of remembrances including two events on the Pulse property.

The new stadium for the Orlando City Soccer Club has a section that features rainbow rows in the middle of the stadium’s purple seats—there is also be a row left empty with missing seats to commemorate the victims.

DC Comics’ “Love Is Love” raises $165,000 for Pulse survivors

Love Is Love, an epic graphic novel between DC Comics and IDW Publishing honoring the victims and families of Orlando’s Pulse nightclub attack, raised more than $165,000 from digital and print sales.

PFLAG group creates Memorial quilt for Pulse victims

PFLAG Napa delivered the Orlando Pulse Memorial Quilt to PFLAG Orlando last October. It contains 49 squares, each of which memorializes one of the lives lost in the June 12 mass shooting.

Orlando Magic honor Pulse victims in opening game

MTV airs “True Life: We Are Orlando”

True Life: We Are Orlando followed the survivors as they try to come to terms with the horrific event and the after-effects it has had on their lives. “The memory of the gunshots and screams keep me up at night,” said Joshua McGill during the special. “And when I finally do go to sleep, the events of that night keep replaying over and over again.”

Imagine Dragons, Nate Ruess, raise $700,000 at Orlando Benefit Concert

Held at the Hard Rock Live in Orlando, the All is One Orlando Unity Concert benefitted the OneOrlando Fund, which assists survivors and families of victims of the attack. The show reportedly raised at least $700,000.

JLo And Lin-Manuel Miranda perform Orlando tribute “Love Make The World Go Round”

The entertainers, who are both Puerto Rican, were moved to write the song after reports revealed that nearly 95% of the victims of the attack were members of the Latinx community.

Moving lyric video for “Hands” released on one-month anniversary of Orlando shooting

The video shows the song’s lyrics written on the hands of famous YouTubers (such as Gigi Gorgeous, Connor Franta and the Rhodes twins) as well as on those of some of the survivors of the attack.

Broadway stars release cover of “What the World Needs Now Is Love” to benefit Orlando

Orlando Gay Chorus performs moving tribute to Pulse victims

The chorus performed the Carousel classic “You’ll Never Walk Alone” to a packed house of nearly 2,500 at Denver’s Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Halfway through the poignant performance, the chorus members joined hands and invited the crowd to stand and do the same. As they did, many in the audience began to sing along with the chorus.

Puerto Rico Unveils first LGBT Monument, pays tribute to Orlando victims

The landmark consists of seven concrete pillars with multicolored mosaics representing the rainbow flag of the LGBT community. The pillars were originally meant to commemorate the one year anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage, but now it also in memory of those who died at Pulse nightclub-many who were of Puerto Rican descant.

A moving video directed by Ryan Murphy sees 49 celebrities paying tribute to the victims of the June 12 shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando. The 18-minute clip, “Stop the Hate,” features Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer, Jane Fonda, Caitlyn Jenner, and others reading one of the victim’s names and sharing information about them.
